NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's gymnastics team stayed at No. 1 in the Week 10 national rankings following a road victory at William & Mary and against Greenville on Saturday.
Teams are ranked again this week based on four-score averages. Teams' four-score averages are determined by taking their four highest scores, two of which must be from away meets, dropping the highest score and averaging the remaining three. OU's four-score average is 327.183. Stanford (326.100), Nebraska (323.050), Penn State (322.317) and Michigan (322.183) round out the top five.
Oklahoma is ranked in the top 5 on all six events and leads the nation on floor exercise (55.267), pommel horse (54.667), still rings (55.350), vault (56.300) and horizontal bar (54.667). OU ranks fifth on parallel bars (53.000).
Senior
Emre Dodanli ranks among the top 5 nationally in three events: he leads the country on high bar (14.033), ranks third on vault (14.283) and fourth on floor exercise (14.000). He has registered the second-highest high bar score (14.500) and third-highest floor exercise score (14.400) nationally this season.
Junior
Kelton Christiansen (13.983) ranks second on high bar. Senior
Matthew Burgoyne (14.033) and sophomore
Tas Hajdu (14.017) rank second and third nationally on still rings.
Burgoyne (13.800) and senior
Brigham Frentheway (13.767) are ranked seventh and eighth on floor and redshirt freshman
Arthur Ballon (13.650) is ranked 11th. Junior
Ignacio Yockers ranks fourth on pommel horse (14.333) and fifth-year senior
Zach Nunez ranks ninth (13.917). Freshman
Francisco Velez Belendez (13.917) is ranked fifth on rings.
On vault, Benas (14.150) ranks 12th, while sophomore
Colin Flores ranks 12th on parallel bars (13.467). Redshirt freshman
Brandon Zepeda-Orth is ranked seventh on high bar (13.617).
In all, the Sooners hold 13 spots in the top 10 on the six apparatus, and 18 spots in the top 15. Dodanli is ranked among the top 5 in three of his events, Frentheway is ranked among the top 18 on all four of his events and Burgoyne ranks among the top 7 on two of his events.
