Red/White Intrasquad Set for Saturday

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's gymnastics team will hold its annual Red/White Intrasquad scrimmage at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center. Fans are encouraged to attend and get a sneak preview of the 2026 squad. Admission is free and doors open at 1 p.m.
 
The Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center is located at 325 Imhoff Rd. Parking is available in the Lloyd Noble Center lot across Imhoff Rd. Fans should enter the Viersen Center through the brand new main entrance, located on the southeast corner of the facility. Shoe covers will be provided, or fans may remove their shoes.

Posters will be available for fans, and the team will sign autographs in the Viersen Center main lobby following the conclusion of the meet. 

Oklahoma returns 14 gymnasts from last season, including redshirt seniors Fuzzy Benas and Brigham Frentheway, seniors Kelton Christiansen and Ignacio Yockers, redshirt juniors Leo Koike and Mac Seyler, juniors Colin Flores, Tyler Flores, Tas Hajdu and Nico Hamilton, redshirt sophomores Arthur BallonMax Bereznev and Brandon Zepeda-Orth and sophomore Francisco Velez Belendez. OU welcomed six newcomers to the squad in sophomore Colby Aranda and freshmen Sasha Bogonosiuk, Max Morelos, Alex Noel, Jackson Rendon and Nathan Roman.
 
The Sooners return a pair of bronze medalists from the 2025 NCAA Championships in Benas in the all-around and Hajdu on still rings. Benas was the MPSF parallel bars champion and claimed four event titles, while Yockers also claimed four. Benas (all-around, floor exercise), Hajdu (still rings), Christiansen (high bar) and Colin Flores (parallel bars) all earned 2025 All-America honors at NCAA Championships. Hajdu (rings), Yockers (pommel horse), Velez Belendez (rings) and Christiansen (high bar) each garnered CGA Regular Season All-America selections.
 
The Sooners open the 2026 season at the Rocky Mountain Open on Saturday, Jan. 17 in Colorado Springs, Colo. OU will host four home meets at McCasland Field House, beginning with a Feb. 1 competition against Greenville. OU also welcomes Ohio State and Air Force on Feb. 7, Nebraska on Feb. 28 and California on March 7. 
 
Admission to all OU men's gymnastics home meets during the 2026 season will be free.
