Sooners Finish Fifth at Big 12 Championship

SARASOTA, Florida — Senior Emma Lazenby earned All-Big 12 honors, and Oklahoma rowing finished fifth at the 2024 Big 12 Rowing Championship on Sunday.
Lazenby competed in the first varsity eight and earned her first All-Big 12 accolade.
In the opening event, the 3V4+ hit the water for an exhibition race, securing a third-place finish behind No. 5 Tennessee.
OU's 3V8+ started fast but was eclipsed by Kansas State in the last sprint, earning a fifth-place finish. The 2V4+ battled to the end, finishing in 7:30.081 and clinching a fifth-place finish.
The 1V4+ squad placed seventh in the fourth race of the day. The 2V8+ across the line 1.5 seconds before No. 18 Alabama and finished fourth. Oklahoma's 1V8+ topped Kansas and placed fifth (6:41.473).
