Matt Schaeperkoetter joined Oklahoma Athletics in July 2006 and currently servs as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Advancement.

In this role, he leads day-to-day fundraising activities for the Sooner Club, including Advancement Operations, Principal Giving, Advancement Growth & Strategy and Donor/Alumni Engagement. He and his Sooner Club team focus on fundraising for student-athlete resources, facility projects, scholarship endowments and overall athletic department needs. The Sooner Club team set an OU Athletics fundraising record in Fiscal Year 2022 by raising $109 Million and followed that up with its second best fundraising year ever in Fiscal Year 2023 with $79 Million raised.Â

He is directly involved in the principal gift and annual fundraising initiatives of the Sooner Club to support the student-athlete experience and serves as the main contact for a wide range of members and stakeholders; and is also the primary sport administrator for women’s golf and has secondary sport administration duties for the men’s golf program.
Prior to his role as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Advancement, he served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Development. In this role, he formed and led the major gift team that was responsible for securing gifts for facility projects, programmatic needs and scholarship endowments. He managed the Sooner Air donor plane program by acquiring and coordinating private plane usage for the Athletics Department.Â
In July 2014, he joined the Sooner Club as a member of the team that successfully fundraised for the $160 million Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium renovation. From 2014 – 2017, he served as the Director of Premium Seating managing the sales and operations of all suites, club, loge box and courtside seating at OU’s athletic facilities.
Schaeperkoetter began his career in the OU Athletics Ticket Office in July 2006. He was a key contributor as Box Office Manager, Associate Director of Ticket Operations and Director of Priority Seating & External Services. In these roles, he implemented integral customer service procedures, managed many of OU Athletics’ events from a ticketing perspective, served as liaison between the ticket office and the Sooner Club in all donor related ticket items and oversaw all donor seating allocations including renewal upgrades, away games, and post-season events.Â
Schaeperkoetter graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Missouri in 2004. He earned his MBA and Masters in Sport Administration from Ohio University in 2006 and he currently serves as an annual fund team leader in support of fundraising efforts for the Sports Administration Program.

A native of Owensville, MO., his family in Norman includes his wife Carla and their son, Ford.
