2024: Big 12 All-Academic First Team ⦠Made 13 appearances and two starts on the mound ⦠struck out 12 and walked 12, allowing 17 earned runs in 17.2 IP ⦠combined on one shutout ⦠in three conference appearances, didnāt allow a run in 3.2 IP with three strikeouts ⦠struck out three in first appearance of the season at DBU (2/20) ⦠started and went a season high three innings vs. Wichita State, striking out one and allowing one hit (3/5) ⦠had three strikeouts and allowed just one hit in two innings of relief vs. UTA (4/9) ⦠combined on a shutout with one strikeout in 2 IP at Texas Tech (5/3) ⦠struck out two in one inning to help OU clinch the Big 12 regular season title vs. Baylor (5/10) ⦠saw action vs. Oklahoma State in the Big 12 tournament final (5/25) and vs. UCONN in the NCAA Norman Regional final (6/3).
2023: Made 18 appearances and five starts on the mound, recording four saves and notching 41 strikeouts in 43.2 innings ⦠went 1-3 with a 5.77 ERA ⦠went 5.0 innings, striking out four batters vs. California Baptist (2/18) ⦠struck out four and allowed one run on three hits and one walk in 5.0 innings vs. Rider (2/25) ⦠struck out seven over 3.2 shutout frames in relief at Texas (4/22; game 2) ⦠pitched 2.0 relief innings with three strikeouts, one hit and no runs allowed vs. Kansas (4/29) ⦠tossed a scoreless frame vs. Kansas (4/30) ⦠struck out five with just one run on two hits allowed in 1.2 innings at DBU (5/2) ⦠notched two punch outs in 1.1 innings at Gonzaga (5/12) ⦠threw 3.0 scoreless innings and struck out two in the NCAA Charlottesville Regional vs. East Carolina (6/4) ⦠other starts came vs. Stanford (4/2), at Baylor (4/8) and vs. Oklahoma State in the Big 12 tournament (5/26).
Prior to OU: A right-handed pitcher from McLennan Community College ⦠as a freshman at McLennan in 2021, he made 16 appearances and 15 starts, registering two complete games, a 10-1 record, 3.63 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 68.1 innings pitched, and helped the Highlanders to the NJCAA national championship ⦠earned NJCAA all-academic third team honors ⦠represented McLennan at the Texas/New Mexico Junior College Baseball Coaches Association All-Star game in September ⦠junior college coach is Mitch Thompson.Ā Ā
High School: A right-handed pitcher from Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, Texas ⦠rated as a top-500 prospect nationally out of high school by Perfect Game ⦠went 10-0 with a 1.17 ERA and 78 strikeouts over his last two high school seasons (including the COVID-shortened 2020 season) and earned Texas UIL Class 6A academic all-state honors ⦠also competed in basketball at Ronald Reagan High School, earning three all-district and two all-region honors ⦠high school coach was Chans Chapman.
