The University of Oklahoma is now participating in a program called Community Connect through our licensing agency, the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC). Below is additional information to help guide you through the process:
 
What is Community Connect?
CLC Community Connect is an online management tool as a means for individuals producing hand-crafted items to become licensed outside of the standard licensing program.
 
Who is eligible for the Community Connect program?
A crafter's license is for individuals wishing to produce handmade OU products. This license is ideal for fans who are interested in producing handmade, small quantities of merchandise for craft fairs and online marketplaces instead of at retail stores.
Handmade products must not include:

  1. Apparel
  2. Stainless steel
  3. Headwear (hats, beanies, etc.)

 
How to apply?
To apply, complete the application at- login.directlicensinghub.com/clccrafter and click “Apply for license”.  OU and CLC will review the application and products for approval. The crafter will be notified by CLC of approval. All crafters will still need to submit artwork for all products for approval prior to production and sales of the item. Once approved, crafters will be given further instructions for this process. The Community Connect license is good for one year.
 
Fees
A $250 annual licensing fee will be charged by The University of Oklahoma on an annual basis. Crafters are allowed to sell up to 500 units or $3,000 in sales revenue annually. No sales can be made on a wholesale basis to a third-party retailer.
 
Officially Licensed Certificate
This officially licensed certificate will replace the need for hologram stickers. Once approved, the “Officially Licensed” certificate will be provided to use at crafter fairs, online websites, etc. Please display this certificate at all times when selling to ensure proof of legitimacy.
