NORMAN – Oklahoma volleyball returns to McCasland Field House for a pair of matches against Abilene Christian and East Texas A&M to close out the home portion of its nonconference schedule.
The Sooners will host Abilene Christian Sunday at 2 p.m. CT before welcoming East Texas A&M Tuesday at 6 p.m. Both matches will stream on SEC Network+.
EFFICIENT ELISE
Senior Elise Hani continues to provide an efficient presence in the middle during her first season as a Sooner. After recording 11 kills without an error on 20 swings against her former team Washington, Hani followed with a season-high 13 kills without an error on 21 attacks at Georgia Tech. The senior hit .619 against the Yellow Jackets and has combined for 24 kills without an attack error over her last two matches.
ATTACKING IN ATLANTA
Oklahoma turned in one of its strongest offensive performances of the young season Tuesday at undefeated Georgia Tech, finishing with 55 kills on a .319 hitting percentage. Four Sooners reached double figures in kills, led by Hani and Tekoa Barnes with 13 apiece, while Alaleh Tolliver added 11 and Alyssa Flack finished with 10. The .319 clip marked OU's second-highest hitting percentage through five matches.
THE RIGHT MOVE
Sophomore Tekoa Barnes has found early success after transitioning from outside hitter to the right side during the spring. Barnes earned Texas State Invitational All-Tournament honors during her first weekend at the position before recording the first two double-doubles of her career in consecutive matches against Ohio State and Washington. She continued her strong start with 13 kills while hitting .409 at Georgia Tech, matching Elise Hani for the team lead in kills against the Yellow Jackets.
SETTING THE TABLE
Sophomore Avaya Maga continues to direct the Oklahoma offense after leading the Sooners with 750 assists as a freshman in 2025. Maga has started all five matches at setter this season and helped OU hit .300 or better in three of its first five contests, including a .319 clip Tuesday at Georgia Tech. The Hamilton, Ontario, native is one of just five players returning from last season's squad.
DIGGING IN
Junior libero Kinsley Singleton has helped anchor Oklahoma's back row in her first season with the Sooners. The Nevada transfer arrived in Norman after leading the Wolf Pack with 361 digs and 3.65 digs per set in 2025, following a freshman campaign in which she totaled 428 digs and averaged 3.69 per set. Singleton has started all five matches for the Sooners this season and recorded a season-high 11 digs in her OU debut at Texas State.
THE OPPOSITION
ABILENE CHRISTIAN: The Wildcats enter Sunday's matchup at 5-3 and riding a four-match winning streak after sweeping a two-match series at Oral Roberts this weekend. ACU earned a 3-1 victory Friday before sweeping the Golden Eagles Saturday, hitting .299 while holding ORU to a .026 clip in the finale. Senior middle blocker Hannah Gonzalez led the way throughout the weekend, totaling 35 kills with just two errors across the two matches. Gonzalez recorded 21 kills without an error while hitting .750 Friday before adding 14 kills on a .480 clip and nine blocks Saturday. Setter Rachel Koss dished out 51 assists in Friday's victory and added 32 in Saturday's sweep.
EAST TEXAS A&M: The Lions enter Tuesday's matchup at 6-3 after going 1-2 at the Roadrunner Classic in San Antonio. East Texas A&M dropped matches to IU Indianapolis and host UTSA on Friday before bouncing back with a five-set victory over Gonzaga on Saturday. Ariana Brown has been a key piece of the Lions' early success and entered the weekend as the reigning Southland Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after totaling 37 kills, 42 digs and seven aces at the Lou Carnesecca Invitational. Libero Jade Washington earned Southland Defensive Player of the Week honors alongside Brown for the second straight week after collecting 59 digs across three matches.
