May 15, 2026 | Track and Field

AUBURN, Ala. — The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams completed day two of the SEC Outdoor Championships on Friday at Hutsell-Rosen Track, highlighted by a bronze-medal finish from Angel Richmore in the heptathlon. The Sooner women currently sit tied for sixth place with 18 total points heading into the final day of competition.

Richmore secured her second career SEC bronze medal in the combined events, totaling 5,766 points to finish third in the heptathlon after also earning bronze at the 2025 SEC Indoor Championships. The graduate student moved into medal position after a runner-up finish in the javelin with a throw of 43.88m (143'11.00") heading into the final event.

Ally Stephenson added a personal-best performance in the heptathlon 800 meters, clocking 2:19.48. Stephenson finished 10th overall with 5,322 points.

In the field events, Kennedy Stringfellow earned two points for Oklahoma with a seventh-place finish in the men's long jump, recording a mark of 7.60m (24'11.25"). Freshman Kassidi Watkins added a point on the women's side with an eighth-place leap of 6.19m (20'3.75"). Niqualas Chew finished just outside scoring position in the men's long jump, placing ninth at 7.47m (24'6.25").

Hannah Pfiffner and Brianna Rivers each cleared 1.71m (5'7.25") in the women's high jump to finish tied for ninth, narrowly outside scoring position.

Jack Vincent closed the night on the track, placing 10th in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:55.51.

Oklahoma returns to action Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT with the women's discus. The Sooners will look to add points during Saturday's championship events behind reigning SEC outdoor champions BJ Green in the triple jump and Ralford Mullings in the discus, along with a strong men's high jump group featuring Tyson Ritz and Kyren Washington, who placed second and third at the SEC Indoor Championships earlier this year. Fans can follow live results via XPress Timing, while SEC Network coverage is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. CT.
