NORMAN – Freshman
Nathan Roman posted the highest parallel bars score in the nation this season (14.650) to lead the No. 1 Oklahoma men's gymnastics team to a team total of 331.300 and a win over No. 3 Nebraska (321.150) in front of a crowd of 1,213 Saturday evening at McCasland Field House.
Oklahoma's score of 331.300 is the highest in the nation this season. This is the second straight meet in which the Sooners have set a national high score. OU registered a 328.650 on Feb. 7 against Ohio State and Air Force, and now owns the two highest scores in the country this season.
The Sooners swept all six individual event titles with a season-high 13 stuck dismounts on the night. Junior
Nico Hamilton won floor exercise with a 14.150 for his first individual event title of the season. Redshirt freshman
Colby Aranda (14.450 on pommel horse) and sophomore
Francisco Velez Belendez (14.150 on still rings) both won their second straight event titles.
Freshman

Kelton Christiansen won the horizontal bar title with a 14.400 to claim his first event title of the season.
"It was great to see guys landing more confidently," Oklahoma head coach
Mark Williams said. "We had more stuck landings than we had all season. There were some really good performances and they're looking more comfortable in the gymnastics they're doing. I feel like we're on track and excited about what's to come."
OU won four team events, posting a 55.500 on floor exercise, 54.050 on pommel horse, 54.800 on still rings and 56.100 on high bar. The Sooners scored 56.000 on vault and 54.850 on parallel bars, just one-tenth of a point behind Nebraska on p-bars. Oklahoma's scores on floor, rings, and high bar were all team highs this season. OU's high bar score bested its previous season high by two points (54.100 on Feb. 7).
The Sooners posted the four highest scores on floor, with redshirt-senior
Brigham Frentheway placing second with a season-high 13.850 and redshirt-senior
Fuzzy Benas and Bogonosiuk tied for third with twin 13.750s. Senior
Ignacio Yockers scored a 14.350 to tie his season high and earn second place on pommel horse. Junior

In all, Oklahoma set or tied 15 individual season highs and four career-best marks. The Sooners registered 10 scores of 14.000 or better and notched a 9.0 or better execution score on nine routines.
The Sooners are now unbeaten against their last 80 regular season opponents, encompassing 67 consecutive regular season meets, inside McCasland Field House, dating back to the 2007 season. OU's only defeat in the field house during that time was in the 2024 MPSF Championship when it finished second to Stanford.
