THE FAST BREAK

• Picked to finish sixth in the SEC by the league's 16 head coaches, Oklahoma returns preseason All-SEC selections Aaliyah Chavez (first team) and Sahara Williams (second team). The duo combined to average 30.8 points per game in 2025-26, ranking as the SEC's third-highest-scoring returning tandem and the 17th-highest nationally entering the season. Chavez led OU with 18.4 points per game, while Williams added 12.4.

• Oklahoma is 5-0 in season openers under Baranczyk, winning by an average of 17.3 points. The Sooners are 36-16 all-time in season openers and have lost just one of their last 16 (2020-21 vs. Houston). OU has not opened a season away from home since Baranczyk's debut campaign in 2021-22, when the Sooners tipped off at South Dakota.
Ā
• Oklahoma advanced to its second consecutive Sweet 16 last season, finishing 26-8 and securing its fourth 25-win campaign under Baranczyk. Aaliyah Chavez scored 15 over her 26 points in overtime to seal the historic win.Ā
