NORMAN – The No. 17/19 Oklahoma men's and women's track and field team qualified 15 entries for the NCAA Outdoor Championships held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., June 11-14, the NCAA office announced. Athletes advanced to the final site with top-12 performances in their respective events at NCAA West Regionals, with an additional automatic qualification from heptathlete
Pippi Lotta Enok.
"This outdoor championship is set to be an incredible event, just like it always is in Eugene. As a coach, I feel fortunate to have 15 athletes from Oklahoma who are eager to make their mark on the sport and OU history," said Head Coach
James Thomas. "This year feels different compared to previous championships. I can genuinely sense a group that is not only excited to be there but also understands the importance of fully taking advantage of this opportunity."
The women's team totaled eight entries and the men seven for the NCAA Outdoor T&F Championships.
Enok's No. 2 nationally-ranked performance in the heptathlon at Mt. SAC Relays on April 18 secured her spot at nationals. She posted a school-record 6,258 points, a count that stands 11th all-time in NCAA collegiate history and 12th in the world in 2025. Enok returns to the outdoor championship for the second time in her career, having won the heptathlon national title in 2023.
Women's hammer throw duo of
Kennedy Clarke and
Kassidy Gallagher stamped their trip to NCAAs Thursday at west regionals. Clarke tossed 64.11m (210'4.00") for eighth place and Gallagher registered 64.08m (210'3.00") for ninth. This marks Clarke's first appearance on the national stage and Gallagher's second, having qualified for the 2023 outdoor championships in Austin, Texas.
The Sooners add two more entries to the final site in the men's triple jump.
BJ Green extended his No. 1-ranking in the nation with a PR of 16.94m (55'7.00") (+1.4) to qualify with the west regional title Friday. He will make his third consecutive appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, having earned a First Team All-America award in 2024 and a bronze medal in the event.
Floyd Whitaker also posted a PR of 16.27m (53'4.50") (+1.0) for fifth place and will make his first appearance on the outdoor stage.
Women's triple jump duo of
Agur Dwol and
Ashley Moore clinched two more spots to the national meet with fourth and ninth place finishes on Saturday of regionals. Dwol leaped 13.65m (44'2.75") for fourth and Moore recorded a career-best mark of 13.48m (44'2.75") +2.0 for ninth. As the reigning indoor triple jump national champion, Dwol visits the outdoor site for the first time. Moore will make her second trip to nationals, having qualified in 2023 while competing for Miami.
Jenna James earned her first career trip to a national championship in the 400-meter hurdles Saturday of west prelims. In the final, the senior raced a career-best 56.71 to finish second in heat two and sixth overall for automatic qualification to Eugene.
Leah Jeruto followed up with first place in heat two of the 3,000-meter steeplechase, earning automatic qualification to NCAAs. Jeruto led the field the entirety of the race and went on to record the ninth-best time of the day with 9:58.74. This marks her first trip to a track and field national championship.
Paige Low will visit the outdoor national championship for the first time in her career, having thrown 54.82m (179'10.00") for ninth place in the discus throw Saturday of regionals.
Ralford Mullings, the No. 2-ranked discus thrower in the NCAA, secured Oklahoma's first qualification of Friday with second place in the event. The Kingston, Jamaica, native tossed 67.21m (220'6.00") and will return to the championships for the first time in three years. He finished third at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Three additions to the men's entries were highlighted by the pole vault, long jump and shot put.
Colton Rhodes (PV) cleared a personal-best 5.42m (17'9.25") for ninth place to advance to Eugene.
Anthony Riley (LJ) claimed his spot at the final site with eighth place and a 7.73m (25'4.50") mark and will make his fourth appearance on national stage, having qualified every outdoor season of his career (2021, 2022, 2024, 2025).
Tucker Smith (SP) finished in seventh place, solidifying his first trip to the championship with a 19.06m (62'6.50") toss.
Kyren Washington adds the Sooners' final entry to the championships. The sophomore tied for first in the high jump with a 2.17m (7'.1.50") clearance at regionals, soaring over every bar from 2.04 meters on without a single miss. Washington returns to the national stage after finishing sixth as a freshman in 2024 for a First Team All-American honor.
The NCAA Outdoor Championships begin Wednesday, June 11 and run through Saturday, June 14. Wednesday and Thursday's events will air on ESPN, Friday will be broadcast on ESPN2 and Saturday on ESPNU. Visit the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships
