NORMAN – A marquee non-conference showdown is set as Oklahoma women's basketball will host North Carolina State at Lloyd Noble Center on Dec. 3 in the third annual ACC/SEC Challenge, ESPN announced Thursday.
The matchup pits a pair of 2025 Sweet 16 teams in a potential top-10 clash as the Sooners landed at No. 7 and the Wolfpack at No. 10 in ESPN's latest Way Too Early Top 25. Under head coach
Jennie Baranczyk, Oklahoma has reached four consecutive NCAA Tournaments, while NC State is coming off a Final Four run in 2024 and an Elite Eight appearance in 2022.
Oklahoma returns its top three scorers in
Raegan Beers,
Payton Verhulst and
Sahara Williams, and welcomes the nation's top incoming freshman in Naismith and Gatorade National Player of the Year Aaliyah Chavez.
The Sooners delivered one of last year's biggest ACC/SEC Challenge moments, erasing a 17-point deficit to knock off No. 22 Louisville on the road and help the SEC secure a 10-6 win in the event's second edition.
This year's ACC/SEC Women's Challenge is set for Dec. 3 and 4, with games airing across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network and SEC Network.
Other headline matchups include No. 2 South Carolina at No. 15 Louisville and No. 6 LSU vs. No. 5 Duke.
Oklahoma's full 2025-26 schedule will be announced later this summer.
