Sooners to Close Regular Season at Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic

NORMAN – The Sooners will travel to Athens, Ga., April 8-9 for the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the UGA Golf Course.

Teeing off Tuesday for the Oklahoma lineup will be juniors Savannah Barber and Gracie Mayo, senior Reagan Chaney, freshman Audrey Rischer and junior MaKayla Tyrrell. Redshirt sophomore Raychel Nelke will compete unattached from the lineup.

LAST TIME OUT
Oklahoma tied for fifth behind three ranked teams at the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, Texas, on March 18, marking its fourth straight top-five finish this spring.

Two Sooners finished in the top 20 of the event, with Barber leading the way in 11th place and Chaney tying for 18th. The rest of the lineup placed in the middle of the field, with Mayo tying for 32nd, Tyrrell for 34th and Rischer for 36th.

TOURNAMENT HISTORY
Oklahoma has appeared in the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic four times in the event's 53 years. Its top finish came in the fall 2012 event, where the team tied for sixth with a score of 888, as Sooner Emily Collins tied for 16th.

FORMAT
The two-day tournament will open with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday, April 8, with two rounds of play on the day. The final round on Wednesday will include 18 holes of play, started with assigned tee times.
