NORMAN – Oklahoma junior
Jase Summy has been selected to represent Team USA at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup, as announced Tuesday on Golf Channel. Summy was chosen by co-head coaches Kalen Anderson (South Carolina) and Nick Clinard (Auburn).
The 29th edition of the annual Ryder Cup-style event, which features men's and women's collegiate golfers from the United States against their international counterparts, will be held June 5-7 at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, S.C. Summy becomes the fifth Sooner to compete in the Arnold Palmer Cup and the first since 2020.
Summy is enjoying one of the best seasons in Oklahoma history, boasting the fourth-lowest scoring average against par (-0.92) in program history. The Keller, Texas, native has climbed as high as No. 5 in the national individual rankings and has recorded seven top-20 finishes, six top-10s, four top-five placements and one win this season.
Over his collegiate career, Summy has earned two tournament victories and finished inside the top 10 at 11 events. He was a preseason All-American for 2024-25 and earned All-Region and All-Big 12 honors as a freshman in 2023.
Summy ranks 18th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), with notable finishes at top amateur events over the past year, including 16th at the Australian Master of the Amateurs, fifth at the North & South Amateur, and runner-up at the Sunnehanna Amateur.
Before arriving at Oklahoma, Summy was a two-time Rolex Junior All-American and a top-10 national recruit out of Keller (Texas) High School, where he was a two-time TAPPS 5A state runner-up. He also led the West Team to victory at the 2022 Wyndham Cup and posted eight top-five finishes in AJGA events.
The United States has claimed 15 victories in the 27-year history of the Arnold Palmer Cup, including each of the past two competitions. Several Sooners have previously represented Team USA at the event: Brad Dalke helped the Americans to a win in 2018, while Quade Cummins, Garett Reband, and Jonathan Brightwell competed in 2020. Cummins also played in 2019. Oklahoma head coach
Ryan Hybl played for Team USA in 2002 — a winning year — and later served as head coach of the American squad in 2018.
One of the premier events in amateur golf, the Arnold Palmer Cup has produced more than 245 alumni who have gone on to earn cards on the PGA, DP World or LPGA Tours. Additionally, 46 former participants have competed in the Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup or Solheim Cup and more than 95 have combined for over 435 professional victories across the PGA, DP World, LPGA and Ladies European Tours.
