Women's Golf to Compete in First SEC Championship

NORMAN – The Sooners will travel to Belleair, Fla., this week for the SEC Championship, slated to start on Monday and conclude on Friday.

Teeing off for the Oklahoma lineup will be junior Savannah Barber, freshman Audrey Rischer, junior Gracie Mayo, senior Reagan Chaney and junior MaKayla Tyrrell. Redshirt sophomore Raychel Nelke will serve as the sixth man for the team.

LAST TIME OUT
OU completed its regular season at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic last week, earning its fifth-straight top five finish for the first time in more than a decade. Rischer earned individual medalist honors at the event for her first career win in her debut season and led the Sooners to their fifth place finish.

Two other Sooners finished in the top 20 of the event, Barber and Tyrrell. Barber led the field in birdies with 10 for her 11th place finish and Tyrrell tied for 20th. Chaney and Mayo rounded out the Oklahoma lineup, tying for 40th. Nelke competed unattached from the lineup and tied for 31st.

THE COURSE
All rounds will be played at The Pelican Golf Club.

FORMAT
The tournament will begin with three rounds of stroke play, played Monday through Wednesday. The top eight teams after 52 holes will advance to match play. The quarterfinals of match play will begin Thursday morning, with semifinals Thursday afternoon. Finals will take place Friday at 9 a.m. CT.
