BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The top-ranked Oklahoma women's gymnastics team earned a runner-up finish at the 2025 SEC Championships Saturday evening inside Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Ala.
LSU earned the title with a team score of 198.200. The Sooners earned a 197.925, followed by a 197.825 from Florida and a 197.400 from Missouri.
Faith Torrez brought home a pair of individual conference titles. The junior shared beam with a 9.925, while claiming floor outright with her second perfect 10 of the season.
The Sooners were in second place after the first rotation, earning a 49.425 on vault. LSU led the pack with a 49.600 on bars, Florida sat in third with a 49.375 on floor and Missouri was fourth with a 49.125 on beam.
Elle Mueller stuck her Yurchenko 1.5 cold for the second time in three meets to earn a 9.95.
Keira Wells notched a 9.90 in the No. 3 spot on a strong 1.5 with just a small hop on the landing.
Addison Fatta added a 9.875, while Torrez and
Lily Pederson notched matching 9.85s to start off the rotation.
Jordan Bowers anchored with a 9.80.
OU closed the gap in the second rotation with a 49.550 on the uneven bars for a 98.975 at the halfway point. LSU stayed in front with a 99.050, while Florida was within .100 of the Sooners at 98.875. Missouri was close in fourth with a 98.725.
Audrey Davis was near-perfect for the 16th time in her career, earning a 9.975 to lead the Sooners. Pederson showed off one of her best routines of the season to tie her career high with a 9.95. Fatta tied her career high with a 9.925 in the No. 3 spot. Bowers closed things out with a 9.90 as the Sooners recorded four scores of 9.9-plus in the rotation.
Danielle Sievers added a 9.80 in the leadoff spot.
The Sooners fell to third after the third rotation, posting a 49.475 on beam for a three-event score of 148.450. Florida moved into the lead with a 148.725, followed by LSU with a 148.675. Missouri remained in fourth with a 147.825. Davis showed why she's the choice for the leadoff spot with a 9.90, followed by a strong routine from Fatta for a 9.875. Pederson nailed her dismount for a 9.90 in the No. 3 spot, while Bowers added a 9.875. After a fall in the No. 5 spot, Torrez closed out the rotation strong with a 9.925.
OU took advantage of Florida miscues in the final rotation to move into second place. The night ended on a high note for Oklahoma as Torrez earned a perfect 10 to cap off the day. Davis led off the final rotation with a 9.875, followed by a 9.80 from Sievers. In the No. 3 spot, Mueller added a 9.85, while Fatta notched a 9.800 in the No. 4 position. Bowers showed off a sky-high double pike for a 9.95 in the No. 5 spot.
The Sooners will await their regional destination, traveling to either Salt Lake City, Utah, Seattle, Wash., State College, Pa., or Tuscaloosa, Ala. Regional competition will be held April 2-6. Teams to compete in the three-day competition will be announced Monday, March 24 at 11 a.m. CT.
