NORMAN – Oklahoma women's basketball will open the 2026-27 season on the global stage, accepting an invitation to compete in Oui-Play Paris 2026. The Sooners will face North Carolina on Nov. 2, 2026, at Adidas Arena in Paris, France.
Sooner Nation can travel alongside the team for one of college basketball's premier international events through an exclusive fan experience package provided by Complete Sports Management. Details and registration for the 2026 Oui-Play fan travel pack are available
here.
Tip times and broadcast information for the 2026 Oui-Play Paris games will be announced at a later date.
"Our program is honored to be invited to play in Paris to open next season," head coach
Jennie Baranczyk said. "We're so grateful to Joe Castiglione and our incredible administration for helping make this opportunity a reality. To represent the University of Oklahoma on the international stage and start a new season together in Paris is something we'll always remember."
The announcement was made at halftime of the first game of the 2025 Oui-Play Paris event and will mark the fourth edition of the showcase. Oklahoma is one of four teams set to compete, joining South Carolina and Maryland, who will square off in the other matchup.
The Sooners and Tar Heels have met five times previously, with North Carolina holding a narrow 3-2 edge in the all-time series. The most recent meeting came in 2023 when UNC defeated OU 61-52 at the Jumpman Invitational in Charlotte.
Oklahoma is 9-6 all-time in games played outside the United States but has never competed in Europe. The trip will be a special homecoming for freshman
Daffa Cissoko, a native of Draveil, Paris, France, located just 45 minutes from the 8,000-seat Adidas Arena — home to Paris Basketball, the 2024 EuroCup champions.
It marks a return to the City of Light for the Sooners, who previously visited France in the summer of 2022 for a foreign tour that included stops in Cannes, Monaco, Lyon and Paris.
The sixth-ranked Sooners open the 2025-26 season today at 4:30 p.m. CT against Belmont at Lloyd Noble Center.
