ESPN+ LIVE STATS GAME NOTES |
• The Sooners are led by their four McDonald's All-Americans: Raegan Beers, Aaliyah Chavez, Payton Verhulst and Sahara Williams. Through two games, the quartet account for 71% of Oklahoma's scoring and 61% of the team's rebounding with national freshman of the year candidate Aaliyah Chavez (18.2 PPG) leading the way with the other three not far behind in terms of early production.
• Sunday is the return of a home-and-home game between Oklahoma and Western Carolina and marks the second meeting between the programs all-time, a matchup the Sooners dominated last season. Last year, Oklahoma knocked off the Catamounts 122-56 in Norman. In last year's meeting, OU erupted for a program single-game record 122 points while shooting an impressive 63.2% from the field. The six current Sooners who appeared in that matchup combined for 74 points against the Catamounts, showcasing the balance and firepower that carried into this season. The 66-point victory also stood as the fourth-largest margin of victory in program history, underscoring just how dominant the performance was from start to finish.
• OU All-American center Raegan Beers leads the SEC with 47 career double-doubles, the second-most nationally among all active players. Since the start of the 2024-25 season (her first at OU), she has recorded 17 double-doubles, tied for 19th nationally over that span, including six over her last eight games dating back to last season.
• The Sooners have won back-to-back games by identical 89-61 scores, the first time in program history OU has posted the same result in consecutive outings. Even more, it marked the team's third double-digit win of the season and the 71st of the Baranczyk era (2021–present) — meaning 68.2% of OU's victories under Baranczyk have come by double figures.
• A win push OU's win streak to three straight and mark the team's first road win of the season.
The Sooners return to Norman to host East Texas A&M on Wednesday (Nov. 19) at 6 p.m. The game will air on SEC Network+ and Sooner Sports Radio Network.
