Josh Poteet serves as Associate Director of Athletics Communications at the University of Oklahoma. In his role, he manages social media and oversees public and media relations for Oklahoma women’s basketball and the men’s and women’s golf programs, including producing game notes and media guides. Poteet also helps supervise student employees within the athletics communications department.
Before joining Oklahoma, Poteet served as an Athletics Public Relations Assistant at SMU from June 2019 through January 2020. He also worked as Assistant Director of Team Communications for the San Antonio Commanders and as Media Coordinator for the Valero Alamo Bowl.
Poteet earned his undergraduate degree in sports media communications with a minor in statistics from Oklahoma State University.
When he’s not working OU sporting events, Poteet enjoys playing video games with friends, going to the movies and following the St. Louis Cardinals.
