Ryan Wondrasek enters his third season as the Director of Player Development on the Oklahoma Softball staff. Wondrasek oversees all the data, analytics and video collected during practice and competition along with advanced scouting for all opponents. He also assists the coaching staff with recruiting and the development of the Sooner Catchers.
Wondrasek came to Norman after spending the 2022 season as the Head Softball Coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, a Division II program in Alva, Oklahoma. In his lone season he led the program to their most wins since 2017 and a six-win improvement from the previous year. The Rangers had two representatives on the All-Great American Conference team last season.
Prior to his time in Alva, Wondrasek spent three seasons as the Head Softball Coach at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas. While with the Saints, he accumulated a 32-24 record in conference play while earning Conference Co-Coach of the year in his first season. He would coach ten players to the All-Conference accolades during his time there.
Before Wondrasek's tenure at Seward County, he was the Assistant Softball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, from 2016 through 2018. He would also oversee the offense as well as instruction for the infielders and catchers, along with coaching third base in games. In his two seasons in Omaha, seven players would go on make to the All-Summit League team.
Wondrasek began his collegiate softball coaching career at St. Gregory's University in Shawnee, Oklahoma from 2012-2016. There he was the Assistant Softball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. While with the Cavaliers he would oversee the offensive and defensive instruction. Here he would help lead them into the top five in batting average and the top 10 in seven other offensive categories in the NAIA. During his time on staff at St. Gregory’s the program accumulated a 172-47 record, including an 81-25 record in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Cavaliers made four trips consecutive trips to the NAIA postseason and competed into the NAIA Softball World Series twice.
Prior to Wondrasek joining the St. Gregory's staff, he spent the 2007-2012 seasons as a varsity assistant baseball coach at Norman North High School. For the Timberwolves he oversaw instructing catchers, infielders, and base running while coaching first base. Wondrasek coached back-to-back Oklahoma All-State catchers in 2011 and 2012.
Wondrasek graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in 2012 while finishing his Master's Degree in Secondary Education and Sports Administration at East Central University in 2016.
