NORMAN - Oklahoma volleyball opens its 2026 SEC slate Sunday afternoon when the Sooners welcome No. 8 Florida to McCasland Field House.
Oklahoma enters conference play at 7-2 and riding a four-match winning streak after closing non-conference action with back-to-back five-set victories over Western Kentucky and East Tennessee State. First serve is set for 2 p.m. CT, with the match streaming on SEC Network+.
STRONG TO THE FINISH
The Sooners closed non-conference play with four consecutive victories, sweeping Abilene Christian and East Texas A&M at home before earning a pair of five-set wins in Bowling Green, Ky. Oklahoma finished the non-conference slate 7-2, with four of its seven victories coming in straight sets. The Sooners' .778 winning percentage is ninth among SEC teams entering conference play.
FIVE-SET FORTITUDE
Oklahoma went a perfect 3-0 in five-set matches during non-conference play, earning victories over Ohio State, Western Kentucky and East Tennessee State. The Sooners rallied from 2-1 deficits in each of their final two matches, taking the fourth and fifth sets against both WKU and ETSU. OU's five-set wins also produced its three highest kill totals of the season, including 79 against ETSU and 75 against Ohio State. The 79- and 75-kill performances are the two highest single-match totals by an SEC team this season.
OFFENSE IN RHYTHM
Oklahoma enters SEC play among the conference's top offensive teams, ranking fourth in assists per set (13.34), fifth in kills per set (14.34) and sixth with a .285 hitting percentage. The Sooners have hit .300 or better in four matches, highlighted by a .406 performance in the season opener at Texas State. OU's 79 kills and 76 assists against ETSU are both SEC single-match highs this season, while its 75 kills and 71 assists against Ohio State rank second in both categories.
SETTING THE TABLE
Sophomore setter Avaya Maga enters SEC play ranked second in the conference with 11.60 assists per set after directing the Oklahoma offense throughout non-conference play. Maga has recorded three double-doubles this season and surpassed 1,000 career assists in OU's sweep of Abilene Christian. She closed the non-conference slate with a career-high 68 assists against ETSU, helping the Sooners produce an SEC-best 79 kills in the five-set victory.
MIDDLE MANAGEMENT
Oklahoma received increased production from its middles throughout non-conference play, highlighted by senior Elise Hani and junior Carley Butler. Hani recorded a stretch of 35 consecutive kills without an attack error against Washington, Georgia Tech and Abilene Christian, including a 13-kill, errorless performance on 21 swings at Georgia Tech for a .619 hitting percentage. Butler closed non-conference play with the first two double-digit kill performances of her career, recording 14 kills while hitting .500 against Western Kentucky before setting a career high with 15 kills against ETSU. Butler enters SEC play ranked eighth in the conference with a .400 hitting percentage.
MAKING HER MARK
Junior pin Mikala Young emerged as an offensive option late in non-conference play, recording double-digit kills in each of Oklahoma's final three matches. Young turned in a then-career-high 17 kills against East Texas A&M, her first career double-digit kill performance, before adding 16 kills against Western Kentucky and 14 against ETSU.
DIGGING IN
Sophomore Aniya Warren transitioned into the libero role late in non-conference play and recorded double-digit digs in each of Oklahoma's final four matches. Warren finished with 13 digs against Abilene Christian and 17 against East Texas A&M before helping the Sooners through consecutive five-set wins in Bowling Green. She capped the stretch with a career-high 22 digs against ETSU as Oklahoma totaled 84 digs, the highest single-match total by an SEC team this season.

No. 8 Florida enters SEC play at 9-1 and riding a seven-match winning streak following Wednesday's sweep of Jacksonville. The Gators' lone loss came in five sets at then-No. 5 Wisconsin, while their non-conference résumé also includes victories over Minnesota, Baylor, Miami and Florida State. Florida is hitting .292 as a team and ranks second in the SEC in opponent hitting percentage (.161) and first in blocks at 2.84 per set.
