Game Time Announced for Oklahoma-Syracuse SEC/ACC Challenge Men's Basketball Matchup

NORMAN — Oklahoma will host Syracuse in an 8 p.m. CT tipoff Tuesday, Dec. 1 on ESPNU as part of the 2026 SEC/ACC Men's Basketball Challenge as announced by television partner ESPN Monday morning. The all-time series stands at 2-2 with the Orange as they are set to make their first trip to Norman.
SERIES HISTORY
Oklahoma and Syracuse have met twice in NCAA Tournament play (2003, 2009)
The first two games in the series were played in Syracuse, including a 98-91 Sooners victory Jan. 7, 1984 at the Carrier Dome (now JMA Wireless Dome)
Oklahoma 84, Syracuse 71 - March 27, 2009 - NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 - Memphis, Tenn.
Blake Griffin scored 30 points and added 14 rebounds and Tony Crocker added a career-high 28 points as the second-seeded Sooners advanced to their first regional final since the 2003 season ... Oklahoma led 39-26 at the halftime break and used a 20-2 run spanning the two halves to grab control of the game ... Griffin was an efficient 12-of-15 from the field and grabbed eight of his 14 rebounds off the offensive glass ... Crocker went 6-of-11 from three-point range ... Oklahoma limited Eric Devendorf to just 3-of-12 shooting from the field and held the Orange to 29.2% (7-of-24) shooting from three-point range.
Syracuse 63, Oklahoma 47 - March 30, 2003 - NCAA Tournament Elite Eight - Albany, N.Y.
Carmelo Anthony scored 20 points and added 10 rebounds to lead Syracuse to an Elite Eight win over Oklahoma ... De'Angelo Alexander paced the Sooners with 14 points to go along with six rebounds ... Oklahoma was unable to recover from an off-shooting night as it was just 18-of-58 (.310) from the field, including 5-of-28 (.179) from beyond the three-point arc ... Hollis Price and Quannas White combined to go 4-of-25 from the field, including 2-of-15 from three-point range for the Sooners ... Oklahoma forced 24 turnovers ... current Syracuse head coach Gerry McNamara had nine points and three assists for the Orange in the game.

Wayman Tisdale scored 33 points on 13-of-19 shooting from the field and 7-of-10 from the foul line as the Sooners improved to 12-1 on the season ... freshman Tim McCalister added 26 points (20 in the second half) to go along with five rebounds and seven assists, while David Johnson delivered a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds ... the game was played in front of 22,122 fans at the Carrier Dome and was also a national broadcast on CBS ... the loss at the Carrier Dome was just the sixth for the home team against a non-conference opponent since the building opened in 1980 ... Rafeal Addison led five Syracuse double-figure scorers with 24 points.

The first meeting between the two schools came during a five-game road trip for the Sooners that began at Madison Square Garden against CCNY. The following season CCNY would become the first school to win both the NCAA Championship and the National Invitation Tournament. Following the loss to Syracuse, which dropped Oklahoma to 1-4 on the season, the Sooners won five consecutive games including the Big Seven Holiday Tournament in Kansas City with wins over Colorado, Iowa State and Kansas. OU went to grab a share of the Big Seven championship behind double-figure scorers Paul Courty (10.9 ppg.) and Wayne Glasgow (10.5 ppg.).
OKLAHOMA IN SEC/ACC CHALLENGE
The SEC leads the challenge with the ACC, 2-0-1 after going 9-7 in the event a year ago. Oklahoma is one of three SEC teams, joined by Arkansas and Georgia, with a perfect record in the challenge.

Tae Davis and Derrion Reid led six Sooner double-figure scorers with 18 points, apiece, while Mohamed Wague contributed an 11-point, 14-rebound double-double ... Oklahoma shot 61.5% from the field in the second half, while holding the Demon Deacons to just 33.3% shooting ... the two teams combined for 62 free throw attempts in the game ... The Sooners were 26-of-35 (.743) from the line ... Juke Harris led Wake Forest with 22 points (12-of-15 Fts).

Oklahoma used a 7-0 run to open the second half and grab its first lead of the night ... the Sooners held Georgia Tech without a made field goal over the first 7:47 of the second half ... Oklahoma went 26-of-30 (.867) from the free throw line, including a combined 19-of-21 (.905) effort by Fears and Moore.
