Trio of Sooners Punch Tickets to NCAA Outdoor Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams added three more NCAA Outdoor Championships qualifiers Thursday at the NCAA West Preliminary Round.

Kennedy Clarke secured her second consecutive trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a seventh-place finish in the women's hammer throw. Clarke recorded a mark of 64.91m (212'11.00"), finishing just two centimeters shy of her personal best.

Colton Rhodes also punched his ticket to Eugene, clearing a season-best 5.37m (17'7.25") in the men's pole vault to finish tied for seventh and advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the second straight season.

Freshman Domtila Cheruto continued her standout debut campaign, qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a ninth-place finish in the women's 10,000 meters. Cheruto crossed the line in 32:30.84 to secure her place among the nation's top 12 qualifiers from the West Region.

On the track, Chloe Rodriguez advanced to Saturday's quarterfinal of the women's 400-meter hurdles after clocking a season-best 57.41. The performance moved Rodriguez to No. 4 in Oklahoma history.

Elsewhere, Nebtom N'Da placed 23rd in the women's long jump with a mark of 6.20m (20'4.25"). Amiyah Norwood concluded her season with a 37th-place finish in the women's javelin, recording a throw of 44.38m (145'7.00").

A pair of Sooners also wrapped up their collegiate careers Thursday. Senior Tessani Foster cleared 4.08m (13'4.50") in the women's pole vault, while Ally Stephenson clocked 13.85 (+2.1) in the women's 100-meter hurdles.

Oklahoma returns to action Friday beginning at 1 p.m. CT with reigning NCAA outdoor champion Ralford Mullings and Brendon See in the men's discus. Fans can follow live results via Flash Results, while ESPN+ coverage begins at 5 p.m. CT.
