FIRST PITCH

• OU is the host of the 2026 Norman Super Regional as the number three national seed. The Sooners welcome Mississippi State, marking OU's second-straight home super regional against an SEC team.

• The Sooners are 3-0 against Mississippi State as co-members of the SEC. The Sooners swept the Bulldogs last season, playing one game in Oklahoma City and two at Love's Field. OU and MSU did not meet in the 2026 regular season.

• Mississippi State head coach Samantha Ricketts is well acquainted with Norman having earned two degrees with the Sooners and two All-American honors for the Sooners as a standout player.

• OU is 13-0 all-time in NCAA Postseason play at Love's Field. The Sooners outscored opponents, 28-1, in regionals last week. The one run was tied for the third fewest permitted in regional play in program history.

• The Sooners hit .403 in the regional round, belting eight homers while the pitchers posted a 0.41 ERA. Miali Guachino, Audrey Lowry and Berkley Zache all teamed up to earn wins. Kai Minor and Kasidi Pickering both homered twice, while Gabbie Garcia hit a sizzling .714 (5-for-7) with two walks and a sac fly.

• Oklahoma is 25-1 in home games this season, with the lone loss at Love's Field coming April 18 against No. 6/8 Arkansas when the Sooners came up short, 3-2. OU is 13-0 in NCAA postseason play at Love's Field since the facility opened in 2024.

• OU took the first two games of the 2025 Norman Super Regional against No. 15 national seed Alabama last season.

Kendall Wells set the SEC single-season home run record previously held by Bri Ellis (Arkansas), Bailey Hemphill (Alabama) and Mia Davidson (Mississippi State). She set it March 31 in just 37 games. Wells then set the NCAA freshman single-season home run record April 11 at Texas. She broke a three-way tie with former Sooners Jocelyn Alo (2018) and Lauren Chamberlain (2012) and Hawaii's Kelly Majam (2010). She then broke Jocelyn Alo's OU single-season home run record (34) April 24.

• Oklahoma enters the weekend leading the nation in batting average (.390) and runs (599).

• After Kai Minor's two-homer regional the Sooners have eight players with double-digit home runs and three players with over 20. Isabela Emerling and Kasidi Pickering are both one home run away from reaching the 20-homer benchmark as well.

• OU hasn't lost a three-game series since the final regular season series of the 2025 season. Since then OU has won 10-straight three-game series, including one in the 2025 Supers. OU went 11-1 in home games against SEC opponents this season.

NOTABLE NUMBERS

18: OU has won 18 consecutive NCAA Super Regional games dating back to a 5-3 loss at Alabama in 2015. During that span the Sooners are 6-0 in games against SEC teams. Oklahoma is 4-0 in super regional games played at Love's Field.

17: OU has won 17 consecutive home super regional contests. OU's last loss in a super regional home game was in game two of a victorious three-game set against Tennessee in 2014. OU's last loss in a super regional opener was in 2007 to DePaul.

Wells was also the only underclassman named to the player of the year top 10 list. Both of them were named to the SEC First Team and they were Softball America First Team All-Americans and All-Freshman Team selections.

USA AND NFCA FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR FINALISTS

• The Sooners paced the country on the USA Collegiate Softball Player of the Year Top 25 list, placing four on the prestigious list. Kai Minor, Kendall Wells, Gabbie Garcia and Ella Parker rounded out the group for Oklahoma. The entire list had only four underclassmen on it, with OU accounting for three of the four. The only two freshmen to make the list were Wells and Minor, while Garcia was accompanied by Florida's Taylor Shumaker as the only two sophomores on the list.

• The NFCA Freshman of the Year Top 25 List was announced April 23, with Oklahoma landing a pair on the list. Wells and Minor represented Oklahoma. OU was only one of three teams to have two honorees on the list, joining Alabama and UCLA. They both made the top 10 and subsequently the top 3.

• Agbayani was an SEC All-Defensive Team selection last season and earned NFCA Midwest All-Region Third Team laurels last season.

SOPHOMORE ARMS

• The Sooner sophomore pitching duo of Audrey Lowry and Miali Guachino both have double-digit wins, combining for a 37-5 record in the circle. They have combined to pitch 211.2 innings.
