NORMAN -- Oklahoma freshman Johan Rodriguez has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week for the fourth straight week alongside sophomore Oscar Lacides who is the SEC Co-Player of the Week. Each Sooner played a pivotal role in Oklahoma's monumental win over No. 6 Mississippi State over the weekend.

Rodriguez played a key role in the Sooners' 4-3 upset overĀ Mississippi State, contributing wins in both singles and doubles to secure Oklahoma's sixth straight conference victory. Rodriguez has won eight of his last 10 singles matches and has totaled 14 singles victories in his freshman campaign. In doubles, Rodriguez has found strong chemistry with teammate Asahi Harazaki, winning four consecutive matches and five of their last six at the No. 3 position. Their 6-3 win helped give Oklahoma an early edge in the dual.

Rodriguez also delivered in singles, earning his fifth win at the No. 3 spot with a dominant 6-3, 1-6, 6-0 performance to put the Sooners' third point on the board. His victory brought Oklahoma within reach of the upset and set the stage for teammate Oscar Lacides to clinch the match at No. 2 singles. The Colombia native has continued his rise nationally, moving up to No. 94 in the ITA singles rankings as of April 7.

Lacides played a pivotal role in the Sooners' defeat of Mississippi State in their final regular-season home match. He teamed up with Alejandro Melero to secure a 6-3 doubles victory, clinching the opening point and giving Oklahoma early momentum. Lacides carried that momentum into singles play, where he delivered the decisive fourth point to seal the win for OU. His 6-4, 7-6(6) win over No. 67 Niccolo Baroni marked his third victory over a nationally ranked opponent. Lacides and Melero have only recently paired up and have delivered three crucial victories to Oklahoma's doubles lineup.

Lacides has been instrumental in the Sooners' six-match SEC winning streak, which includes four victories over top-20 opponents. The France native has recorded seven singles wins in conference play and has been a steady presence at the No. 2 position, compiling an 8-2 record. He is currently riding a five-match singles winning streak and retains his No. 62 place in the April 7 ITA singles rankings.
