NORMAN – Four members of the Oklahoma women's tennis team earned All-SEC honors, the conference announced Wednesday, highlighted by Evialina Laskevich being named SEC Freshman of the Year.
Laskevich, alongside sophomore Gloriana Nahum and redshirt junior Roisin Gilheany, was selected to the All-SEC First Team. Freshman Edda Mamedova earned Second Team All-SEC honors, while Laskevich and Mamedova were both named to the All-Freshman Team.
Laskevich, a native of Minsk, Belarus, has made an immediate impact for the Sooners while competing primarily at the No. 1 singles position. Currently ranked No. 9 by the ITA, she holds a 12-7 overall singles record, including a 9-3 mark in SEC play with seven ranked wins. She has also excelled in doubles, posting an 18-6 record with three ranked victories, including two against top-10 opponents. Laskevich put together a nine-match singles winning streak from Feb. 26 to April 2 and earned both SEC Player of the Week and SEC Freshman of the Week honors on April 1 after leading Oklahoma to wins over No. 1 Georgia and No. 27 South Carolina. She also earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors on March 11.
Mamedova has been a key contributor across both singles and doubles lineups for Oklahoma this season. Competing primarily at the No. 2 singles position, the Moscow, Russia, native is ranked No. 34 nationally and owns a 14-6 overall record with five ranked wins and multiple match-clinching performances. In doubles, she has excelled at the No. 2 spot, earning a No. 17 ITA ranking while compiling a 14-5 record, including four ranked victories with two against top-10 opponents.
Nahum, a sophomore from Cotonou, Benin, and Gilheany, a redshirt junior from Melbourne, Australia, form the nation's No. 1 ranked doubles pair and earned automatic All-SEC First Team honors as the top-ranked duo in the conference. The pair holds a perfect 6-0 record together this spring, anchoring one of the nation's most dominant doubles lineups.
Nahum has also been a consistent presence in singles, posting a 14-1 record primarily at the No. 6 position. She owns a perfect 10-0 doubles record overall this season.
Gilheany has compiled a 9-2 overall doubles record, including her undefeated mark alongside Nahum. She has also contributed in singles, earning a win in her lone appearance this spring.
