AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Madison Booker and Justice Carlton scored 16 points each to lead No. 4 Texas to a 78-70 victory over No. 10 Oklahoma on Sunday.
Jordan Lee scored 14 and freshman Aaliyah Crump added 12 points off the bench as Texas (21-2, 6-2 Southeastern Conference) won its 38th straight home game and improved to 7-2 this season against AP Top 25 opponents. Oklahoma is 2-5 against the top 25.
Carlton also had eight rebounds and made two steals, and Booker had five rebounds and five assists.
Payton Verhulst led Oklahoma (17-5, 5-4) with 18 points, and Zya Vann added 15, including 10 in the fourth quarter when the Sooners tried to erase a 16-point deficit.
But Aaliyah Chavez, the Sooners' star freshman, was 3-for-13 shooting for 11 points, eight fewer than her average, while mostly guarded by Rori Harmon, who also scored 10 points. Oklahoma center Reagan Beers scored 10, six less than her average. The Sooners finished the game 18 points below their average for the season.
Oklahoma trailed by 21 late in the first half but pulled closer behind four 3-point baskets in the third quarter, two by Verhulst. They trailed by seven after a basket by Vann with 7:15 left in the game. But Texas responded with a jump shot by Booker and layups from Harmon and Carlton in a span of 37 seconds.
Crump came off the bench to score 10 in six second-quarter minutes, helping the Longhorns take that 21-point lead. Oklahoma missed 7 of 8 3-pointers in the quarter, its only long-distance basket a heave from around midcourt by Verhulst just ahead of the halftime buzzer.

POSTGAME NOTES
• Oklahoma (17-5, 5-4 SEC) fell on the road to No. 4 Texas, 78-70, at the Moody Center in Austin on Sunday. The loss snapped 10th-ranked OU's winning streak at three as all of OU's five losses this season have come to ranked teams, with four of the five to top-10 foes.
• The Sooners struggled offensively in the first half, finishing with 24 points, their second-lowest point total in a half this year. Trailing by 16 entering the break, OU battled back in the third, cutting the deficit to nine at three different points in the frame. The Sooners made their last run in the fourth, cutting the Texas lead to seven points with 7:15 remaining the game but Texas answered with a 9-0 run that iced the game.
• Payton Verhulst led the way with 18 points, hitting three 3-pointers, including a buzzer-beating shot from behind half court to close the first half. The guard added a team-high four assists and also pulled down two rebounds. The guard now has 14 double-digit scoring games this season and has reached 10 points in five of her last six contests.
• Raegan Beers logged her nation-leading 61st career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The center continues to lead the country with 16 double-doubles this season. The All-American center has posted 10 double-doubles against ranked teams since joining the Sooners in 2024-25, and has done so four times this year.
• Zya Vann also finished in double figures, scoring 10 of her 15 points in the fourth quarter. The guard's 15 points marked her strongest offensive output since she had 16 against Mississippi State on Jan. 4.
• The Sooners shot 45% from the field in the loss, snapping a 17-game winning streak when OU shoots 45% or better from the field. Oklahoma, who entered the contest leading the nation in field goal percentage defense, allowed the Horns to shoot 51% - the highest mark from a Sooner opponent this year.
• Fourth-ranked Texas was led by Madison Booker, who shot 70% on the day and scored 16 points. The reigning SEC Player of the Year led the Longhorns to their 38th straight win at home, with their last loss coming to the Sooners in 2024.
• Oklahoma is off in the midweek and is slated to return to action on Feb. 9 at Vanderbilt. That contest will tip at 8 p.m. on ESPN2 in Nashville.
