EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 19 Oklahoma women's track and field team concluded the second day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships Thursday night at Hayward Field.
Freshman
Leah Jeruto advanced to the steeplechase final Saturday at 8:24 p.m. CT with the 11th-fastest time of the semifinals. The top-five runners out of both heats and the two next best times qualified. Jeruto clocked 9:39.54 to become one of two Sooners in program history to advance to the event final at an NCAA Outdoor Championship.
Hammer throw duo of
Kassidy Gallagher and
Kennedy Clarke finished 19th and 20th, respectively, in the event for honorable mention honors. Gallagher registered a 63.47m (208'3.00") mark on her first attempt and Clarke posted a 63.36m (207'10.00") toss on her second attempt.
Senior
Jenna James capped her collegiate career with a NCAA honorable mention award, finishing 19th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.18.
Pippi Lotta Enok begins her quest for a second national title in the heptathlon Friday at 1:45 p.m. CT and four athletes on the men's team resume competition at 4:15 p.m. CT. Live results of the meet can be viewed on
