LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oklahoma men's gymnastics redshirt junior
Fuzzy Benas, senior
Brigham Frentheway and juniors
Kelton Christiansen and
Ignacio Yockers are set to compete at USA Gymnastics Winter Cup on Friday and Sunday at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
Benas, Frentheway, Christiansen and Yockers will be joined by future Sooners Sasha Bogonosiuk and Nathan Roman in the senior men's competition this weekend.
Benas, a member of the U.S. Men's Senior National Team since Winter Cup 2024, was pre-qualified for the all-around but will only compete on floor exercise and vault as he recovers from injury. He competed for the first time this season last weekend against Michigan and Simpson and won the vault title. Frentheway is qualified for floor exercise, Christiansen is qualified for high bar and Yockers is qualified on pommel horse. This will be Yockers' third Winter Cup and the first for Frentheway and Christiansen.
Last year, Benas tied for fifth place in the all-around and was named to the U.S. Men's Senior National Team. Roman is a current member of the U.S. Men's Junior National Team.
The Sooners qualified a total of five current gymnasts, including sophomore
Tas Hajdu, who will not compete at Winter Cup as he rests an injury (he was also not in the lineup for Oklahoma's home meet last weekend). OU alumnus Yul Moldauer also qualified but will not compete at Winter Cup this weekend.
The gymnasts will take the floor for the first day of competition at 5 p.m. CT on Friday. The all-around and event finals will be held on Sunday beginning at 3:30 p.m. CT.

The 2025 Winter Cup is a qualifying event to the 2025 U.S. Gymnastics Championships. The Winter Cup will also culminate in the selection of the Men's Senior National Team to be named following the competition.
