Armed with character-building experiences that intense competition affords, OU student-athletes develop lifelong characteristics for success such as discipline, perseverance, leadership and teamwork. Our Career Networks and Athletic Career Fair serve to connect these "leaders of tomorrow" with former student-athletes and OU supporters to create mutually beneficial career development experiences.
The inclusion of our Career Networks allows our student-athletes to explore career opportunities in various capacities. The Sooner Football Career Network and Varsity O Association Career Network are designed to advance the professionalism of OU student-athletes through interviewing, mentoring, and job shadowing to name a few.
By joining this extensive network of contacts across many industries and disciplines, the Career Networks strive to:
Facilitate networking opportunities between student-athletes, former letterwinners, and members of the OU community with similar career interests and experiences;
Connect qualified student-athletes with prospective employers; and
Foster the development of productive professional relationships among student-athletes, athletic alumni groups, and OU supporters
