Oklahoma Places 125 on First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll

NORMAN – A total of 125 University of Oklahoma student-athletes were named to the 2024-25 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll by the conference office Friday.
The First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2024-25 academic year. The OU list included 20 athletes from baseball, 19 from track and field, 18 from rowing, 16 from football, 11 from soccer, nine from softball, six from women's gymnastics, four each from men's basketball, volleyball and women's tennis, three each from women's basketball, men's golf and wrestling, two each from men's gymnastics and men's tennis and one from women's golf.
Any student-athlete who participates in a Southeastern Conference championship sport or a student-athlete who participates in a sport listed on his/her institution's NCAA Sports Sponsorship Form is eligible for nomination to the Academic Honor Roll.
To be eligible for recognition, a student-athlete must (1) have a grade-point average of 3.00 or at the nominating institution. A graduate student-athlete must have a graduate school GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution.; (2) have his/her GPA during the summer academic term included in the calculation used to determine eligibility for the Academic Honor Roll; (3) be receiving an athletics scholarship or recipient of an athletics award (i.e., letter winner) or be a non-scholarship student-athlete who has been on a varsity team for two seasons; (4) have successfully completed 24 semester or 36 quarter hours of non-remedial academic credit toward a baccalaureate degree at the nominating institution or 18 semester or 27 quarter hours of academic credit toward a graduate degree at the nominating institution; (5) have been a member of a varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
