FORT WORTH, Texas -- No. 14 Oklahoma's season ended on Saturday with a 7-0 loss to Oral Roberts in the first elimination game of the NCAA Fort Worth Regional.

The loss drops Oklahoma to 41-19 on the season while Oral Roberts (37-21) will play Sunday at 2 p.m. against the loser of tonight's game between TCU and Dallas Baptist.

Its a frustrating end for us, there's no doubt,” said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway. “We had some high expectations, we just didn't liv eup to them. We are looking forward to next year.”

OU's Burch Smith took the loss and dropped to 10-4 after allowing three runs off three hits and a walk in just 2/3 of an inning

In the other dugout, Drew Bowen lasted eight innings with six hits allowed and improved to 6-2. Bowen's strong outing gave the Golden Eagles their first postseason win over Oklahoma after dropping the opener in the 2010 NCAA Norman Regional and falling twice in the 2000 Oklahoma City Regional.

The Golden Eagles' offense wasted little time in giving Bowen a comfortable cushion to work with, plating three runs off Smith in the first and three more off Dillon Overton (two unearned) in the second.

Overall, three of ORU's seven runs were unearned thanks to a season-high six errors committed by the Sooners.

“I thought in the game today, Oral Roberts played really well,” added Golloway. “I thought their pitching was outstanding, but more so, once they got the lead, I thought their hitters really attacked and did a good job. They clearly deserve to win the ball game today and we wish them luck the rest of the way.”

In the second inning, Jordan John became the third Sooner pitcher used on the afternoon and he tossed the final seven innings. John allowed just one run, but it was unearned, off two hits and three walks, while also striking out five ORU batters.

'I just didn't have it," said Smith in the postgame press conference. "Jordan John did a great job of coming in and shutting them down for the rest of the game.”

Chris Ellison had three of the Sooners hits on the day while Ricky Eisenberg, Casey Johnson and Tyler Ogle each added a base knock.

"We didn't hit as well as we wanted to," said Ellison. "You have to put runs on the board."

The game was the final in a Sooner uniform for Johnson and Eisenberg, two of the 10 seniors on the team (Elliott Blair, Tyler Brady, Anthony Collazo, Ryan Duke, Cale Ellis, Michael Rocha, Tyson Seng and Bobby Shore).

The 2011 Major League Baseball draft will take place on Monday, June 6. Stay tuned to SoonerSports.com for more information.
